FAQ

+ How long are the counselling appointments?

All counselling sessions with an Emotional Health Practitioner are 50 minutes.

+ What is the average wait time for counselling services?

Our aim is to schedule your first counselling session within the first two weeks of your inquiry. If you or a family member has an urgent mental health concern, please call 911.

+ What are the session fees?

A 50 minute in-person, virtual or telephone session with an Emotional Health Practitioner is $155.00 (tax included).

+ When are session fees due?

The very first session payment is due upon booking in order to secure your spot. All other sessions are due one day in advance of your appointment. Jane App will debit the credit card on file as we separate administrative procedures from your counselling experience.

+ How many counselling sessions do you need?

Each and every session will leave you with something you did not know when you started. We will tailor these exercises and practical tools where you need help most. In this way, each and every session has value. It's up to you just how much time and finances can afford. If you are feeling completely overwhelmed and looking to make some dramatic changes, we would suggest trying a week apart. But you need time between sessions to do the homework, so be easy about this and one session a month is still going to advance the cause wonderfully.

+ When can we book an in-person counselling session?

We do offer in-person counselling and walk therapy sessions in East City Peterborough. There are limited spots available at this time. Virtual sessions offer such remarkable results, in terms of speeding the process of the work we do. We think it’s because you are not leaving the comfort of your own space in order to dig deep.

+ Do you prescribe medication?

Canadian Family Health Counselling does not prescribe medication, please contact your family health provider.
